Oculus Acquires eye-tracking startups Eye-Tribe

The Eye Tribe is an award-winning, leading innovator of eye tracking technology and an OEM technology partner that delivers fast, affordable solutions for integrating eye tracking into VR/AR, smartphones, tablets, computers, automotive, TV, entertainment and gaming devices.

The Eye Tribe software enables touchless interaction and control of consumer devices, eye-based authentication and visual attention analytics. 
The Eye Tribe’s unique approach relies on combining its proprietary software with OEM hardware, using only standard components that can be integrated into the next generation of consumer devices.

Based in Denmark, The Eye Tribe was founded in 2011 and has received many awards for its technology innovations, including 5 Innovation Awards at CES and being a finalist in Sir Richard Branson’s Extreme Tech Challenge 2015.

In December 2016, The Eye Tribe was acquired by Facebook to integrate with its Oculus solution to provide a simple and enhanced user experience.
